Galvin Parkway is scheduled to be closed Monday, July 20, 2009 through October 1, 2009 for the construction of the roundabout at the entrance to the Desert Botanical Garden. Access to the Phoenix Zoo and Papago Park will be maintained via Van Buren Street, and access to the Desert Botanical Garden will be maintained via McDowell Road. Construction of the new water transmission main is scheduled to begin on Monday, July 20, 2009. The contractor will begin work in the intersection of Van Buren Street and Galvin Parkway. Work in the intersection will be performed at night between the hours of 5:00 pm to 5:00 am. The contractor anticipates completion of the intersection work by Friday, July 24, 2009. Upon completion of this work, the contractor will proceed west to 53rd Street during their normal work hours of 6:00 am to 4:00 pm. One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained.
